I arrived in Doha with no idea what to expect. What was the role of personal writing in Qatar? Could I be sure that my approach to getting people writing would be appropriate in this country, this culture?

What I found was close to what I find everywhere–people searching for a voice and delighted to discover the power of that voice within themselves.
